April Ferry: Costume Designer on ‘Maverick,’ ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Rome,’ Dies at 91

April Ferry was an American costume designer. At the 67th Academy Awards, she received a nomination for Best Costume Design for the film Maverick. Ferry received an Emmy Award for the costumes in the television series Rome.

April was honored with the Career Achievement Award from the Costume Designers Guild in 2014. In 2016, she took over Michele Clapton’s role as the new costume designer for the majority of HBO’s epic fantasy series Game of Thrones, beginning with season 6.

Clapton eventually returned to the show as costume designer for its seventh season. Ferry had approximately 45 credits, including a few films from the television series The Rockford Files.

Ferry passed away on January 11, 2024, at the age of 91.
