Anton Viktorovich Yelchin was a film and television actor from the United States. Yelchin was born in Leningrad, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union, on March 11, 1989.

He immigrated to the United States with his parents at the age of six months after being born in the Soviet Union to a Russian-Jewish family.
As a child actor, he starred in the mystery drama film Hearts in Atlantis (2001) and was a series regular on the Showtime comedy-drama Huff (2004–2006).
In 2009, Yelchin landed higher-profile film roles as Pavel Chekov in the Star Trek reboot and Kyle Reese in Terminator Salvation. He returned for the sequels Into Darkness (2013) and Beyond (2016).

Yelchin was a fan of acoustic blues music and enjoyed playing the guitar, which he said gave him fulfilment. He used to be a member of the Hammerheads, a punk band.
He was also fascinated by photography. Anton Yelchin: Provocative Beauty, an exhibition of Yelchin’s photography, opened in January 2018 at New York City’s De Buck Gallery.
Anton Yelchin died from “blunt traumatic asphyxia” at the age of 27 according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office on June 19, 2016
