Amir Khan, a former professional boxer from the United Kingdom who was born on December 8th, 1986, competed from 2005 to 2022. Between 2009 and 2012, he was the undisputed light-welterweight world champion, holding the WBA (later Super) and IBF titles.

He held the Commonwealth lightweight championship at the local level from 2007 to 2008. He also formerly competed for the WBC and Ring magazine middleweight titles in 2016, and he held the WBC Silver welterweight title from 2014 to 2016.

At the 2004 Olympics, amateur boxer Khan took home a silver medal in the lightweight division, making him the youngest Olympic medalist in boxing from Britain at the age of 17.

Khan has two sisters and a brother who is also a professional boxer, Haroon “Harry” Khan. He is linked to English cricketer Sajid Mahmood through a paternal grandfather, Lal Khan Janjua, who left Pakistan after being released from the army and settled in England.

He received the ESPN prospect of the year award in 2007. After earning the WBA championship at the age of 22, he went on to become one of the youngest British professional world champions ever.
