The scheme allegedly involved making fraudulent payments through banks, resulting in the acquisition of over $1 million in property. Kingston and Turner have been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit fraud and five counts of wire fraud. The charges stem from their alleged attempts to defraud sellers of high-end speciality vehicles, jewellery, and other luxury goods through the use of fraudulent documents.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, the defendants “unjustly enriched themselves by falsely representing that they had executed monetary payment transfers.”
The singer was arrested in May 2024 in California. On the same day, his South Florida mansion was raided, and his mother was also taken into custody.
