This advice follows the Ghanaian education system’s new practice of including song lyrics in exam questions, like the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Amerado’s song, ‘Kweku Ananse’, was recently featured in a Creative Art and Design paper. He believes this reflects the significant influence musicians have in society.

He urged musicians to be mindful of their public behavior and the messages in their songs, as these can impact young people, especially students.

Amerado emphasized that this initiative shows the strong link between the corporate sector and the creative industry, highlighting their value in society and contribution to Ghana’s educational growth.

Despite often being labeled as bad influences, he encourages musicians to continue their hard work and strive for recognition.

One exam question asked students to identify the moral lesson from a lyric in ‘Kweku Ananse’. For Amerado, this recognition is a boost to his efforts and the music sector’s growth.

He noted that such inclusion in exams teaches children valuable lessons, like not being envious, and reinforces the importance of positive messages in music.

Amerado expressed gratitude to the Ghana Education Service (GES) and West African Examination Council (WAEC) for this recognition.

This marks the first time junior high school candidates have taken an exam on this new subject since its introduction into the curriculum.
