Alleged N2.7Bn Fraud: Sirika Pleads Not Guilty, Granted N100M Bail

Hadi Sirika the former Aviation Minister of Nigeria, has entered a plea of not guilty to the N2.7 billion corruption charges brought against him by the Federal Government.

On the fateful day of Thursday, May 9, 2024, Hadi Sirika was arraigned before Justice Sylvanus Oriji at the Federal High Court in Abuja, alongside his daughter, Fatima, his son-in-law, Jalal Sule Hamma, and a company called Al Buraq Global Investment Limited.

Fatima and Jalal Sule Hamma, the family members of Hadi Sirika, also denied the six-count charges leveled against them. Subsequently, their legal representatives applied for bail, which was granted by the judge.

Justice Oriji granted bail to the three defendants at ₦100m each, requiring two sureties for each defendant who must be reputable citizens with identifiable residential addresses.

The next trail on the case is scheduled for June 10, 2024, at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
