Alleged Former Teacher of Nigerian Singer Asake Speaks Amid Family Controversy

A man claiming to be Asake’s former nursery teacher has spoken about the family dispute.

The controversy started when Asake’s father publicly appealed for his son’s help, revealing that he was battling a stroke. However, Asake’s response—sharing a video that many interpreted as mocking the situation—sparked mixed reactions online.

Now, a man who says he taught Asake in nursery school has shared his side of the story on Facebook. He described Asake’s father as a devoted and kind man who singlehandedly raised his son after his mother remarried another musician, identified as Musibau Alani, also known as Omokekere.

Recalling his experiences, the man stated that Asake’s mother would occasionally visit him in school, but it was his father who played the primary parental role. He also revealed that his brother, who was the proprietor of the nursery school, later enrolled Asake in Ebute Ero Primary School at the age of five.

He further cautioned individuals from Mushin who were making claims about Asake’s upbringing, urging them to respect the truth and leave the matter to those who genuinely knew the singer and his family.
