This development follows previous interest from another Saudi club, Al-Ittihad, which had been in pursuit of the Nigerian international but failed to reach a deal with Atalanta.
Reports indicate that Atalanta is holding out for approximately €70 million for Lookman, a significant sum reflecting his value on the transfer market. Al-Ahli’s involvement comes as part of their aggressive summer transfer campaign, which has already seen them secure notable signings.
This summer, Al-Ahli has been busy bolstering their squad, with recent acquisitions including Turkish defender Merih Demiral from Atalanta for €20 million plus bonuses.

The club has also added Roger Ibanez from Roma, Riyad Mahrez from Manchester City, Allan Saint-Maximin from Newcastle United, Franck Kessie from Barcelona, Roberto Firmino from Liverpool, and Edouard Mendy from Chelsea.
Lookman, who joined Atalanta from Leicester City in 2022, enjoyed a standout season, netting 15 goals and providing 10 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.
His impressive performances have drawn attention from several top clubs, and Al-Ahli’s entry into the race adds yet another dimension to the ongoing transfer saga surrounding the talented winger.
With Al-Ahli now in the mix, the competition for Lookman’s signature is set to intensify, and the coming weeks may reveal whether the Saudi club will meet Atalanta’s asking price or if other suitors will emerge in the hunt for the highly sought-after player.
