President Nana Akufo-Addo has sworn in 16 new justices to the Court of Appeal, underscoring the importance of transparency and accountability within the judiciary.

The ceremony took place at the Jubilee House, where the President administered the Oath of Allegiance, the Judicial Oath, and the Oath of Secrecy.
Akufo-Addo emphasized that public trust in the judiciary is crucial for a functioning democracy. He urged the new justices to dispense justice impartially and maintain independence from political, economic, or social influences.

The President stressed that judges must be held to the highest standards of conduct to ensure the protection of citizens’ rights and deepen public confidence in the justice system.
The President also highlighted the need to address the backlog of cases in the courts. He called for innovative solutions and the adoption of new technologies to improve case management and expedite justice.
Akufo-Addo noted that timely resolution of cases is essential, as “justice delayed is justice denied.”
