Air Peace has announced the full resumption of its flight operations today, following the suspension of the industrial action by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) and other aviation unions.
The airline had temporarily halted all flights on Wednesday, April 23, due to safety concerns arising from the strike by NiMet workers, who were protesting poor wages and working conditions. While other carriers, including Ibom Air, Arik Air, and United Nigeria Airlines, continued operations, Air Peace cited safety as its priority in suspending services.

In a statement released by the airline’s Head of Corporate Communications, Ejike Ndiulo, Air Peace expressed gratitude to its customers and the government for their support during the disruption.
“We are pleased to inform our valued customers that all flight operations will resume effective Friday, April 25, 2025, following the suspension of the strike by NiMet and other aviation unions,” Ndiulo said. “We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued trust in our brand during this period.”
The striking unions, including the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) and the Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals (ANAP), agreed to suspend their industrial action until May 13, 2025, to allow the government time to address their demands.
Aba Ocheme, NUATE’s National Secretary, confirmed the decision, stating that the suspension was in recognition of the intervention by the Minister of Aviation. “We await the progress of the actions he has committed to take,” Ocheme said in a ministry statement.
Similarly, ANAP’s National President, Alale Adedayo, noted that the unions decided to call off the strike temporarily as a sign of goodwill toward the government’s efforts to resolve the dispute.
Passengers are advised to check with Air Peace for updates on flight schedules as normal operations resume.
