African Games Volunteers Still Waiting for Overdue Allowances

Following the conclusion of the 13th African Games, a volunteer, speaking anonymously to Citi News, revealed that they are still awaiting the allowances promised by the Local Organizing Committee and the Volunteer sub-committee.

Despite assurances from the Committee, volunteers have yet to receive the full payment of GH₵1,200, which includes GH₵1,000 in incentives and GH₵200 for transportation.

According to the volunteer, they provided all required details for payment, including names and mobile money numbers, over the weekend.

However, as of the latest update, no payment has been deposited into their respective accounts.

Expressing frustration, the volunteer emphasized that while assurances have been given, no concrete timeline for payment has been provided.

The volunteer reiterated that none of the volunteers have received payment yet, but they remain hopeful that the promised funds will be disbursed soon.

The delay in payment comes despite the Committee’s commitment to ensuring volunteers receive their due allowances. Volunteers continue to await further communication regarding the timeline for payment.
