Ditterich’s reputation in the football world is notable, marked by his toughness and numerous appearances before the AFL/VFL tribunal.

Throughout his illustrious career spanning from 1963 to 1980, he played 285 games for St Kilda and Melbourne. Despite his achievements on the field, including induction into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2004, Ditterich’s legacy is now overshadowed by these serious legal accusations.
