After nearly two decades of contributing to the team’s success, he believes it’s time to pass the torch and pursue new endeavors. Despite the official statements, it’s understood that not everything has been smooth sailing between Newey and the Red Bull Racing management, particularly team boss Christian Horner.

Allegations of misconduct against Horner had led to a strained relationship, although the investigation was eventually dismissed. Since joining Red Bull in 2006, Newey’s expertise has been instrumental in the team’s achievements, including multiple championships and numerous race wins.

His future plans remain uncertain, but there is speculation about a potential move to Ferrari, aligning with his past expressions of interest in working with the iconic racing team and drivers like Lewis Hamilton, who will join Ferrari in 2025.

Importantly, Newey will not be subject to “gardening leave,” allowing him the freedom to continue working in Formula 1 immediately after his tenure with Red Bull concludes.
