Hergurson, once a highly sought-after actor in the country, revealed that his career took a downturn due to his prolonged struggle with drug addiction, leading to his disappearance from screens.
“I never imagined I would become a drug addict, but it crept up on me slowly. Now, I deeply regret the path I’ve taken,” he confessed in an interview with Adwene Media.
Currently undergoing rehabilitation at Achimota in Accra, Hergurson implored the youth to use his life as a cautionary tale and reject drugs altogether.
“Look at me now, once a top actor in the country. I regret every moment of drug use. It pains me deeply,” he emphasized.

Highlighting the stark contrast between his past and present appearance, Hergurson urged young people to consider the toll drugs have taken on his physical and spiritual well-being.
“Don’t make the same mistake I did. I want to be an advocate against drug abuse. Ghanaians need to understand that drugs destroy your health, dreams, and soul. They tear you apart inside and out,” he warned passionately.
Joseph Hergurson has starred in several notable movies including ‘Stryke,’ ‘Age 18,’ ‘Quarantine with Bae,’ ‘Barz,’ and ‘Family and Marriage,’ among others.
