Actor Alec Baldwin Shoots And Kills Director Of Photography On Movie Set

Actor Alec Baldwin has shot and killed a woman on a movie set after discharging a prop firearm in New Mexico on Thursday.

According to a law enforcement statement, the woman, who is the Director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, was pronounced dead by medical personnel at the University Of New Mexico Hospital.

Another person, Director Joel Souza, was also injured and is currently on admission at Christus St. Vincent’s Regional Medical Center.

The incident happened on the set of the movie “Rust”.

“According to investigators it appears that the scene being filmed involved the use of a prop firearm when it was discharged,” the statement said. “Detectives are investigating how and what type of projectile was discharged.”

The incident happened at approximately 1:50 p.m. local time, investigators said.

The Sheriff’s Office said no charges have been filed.
