In a candid conversation with Nana Kwame Gyan on Onua Showbiz last Saturday, March 9, 2024, Abiana emphasized the need for music producers, event organizers, and media personalities to do more to support female talent.
Drawing attention to the return of fellow artist Becca to the music scene after a hiatus for family reasons, Abiana hailed it as a significant move, showcasing that women can balance a career in music with other life commitments.
She sees Becca’s comeback as a source of inspiration for both current and aspiring female artists who aspire to juggle family life with their musical ambitions.

Abiana highlighted a prevailing issue within the industry, noting that male artists often receive more attention and promotion from the media, which can discourage female musicians from pursuing their dreams.
She called for equal representation on playlists, advocating for a 50-50 split between male and female artists to give women a fair chance at visibility and success.
Having earned recognition herself with the Best Female Vocal Performance award at the 2021 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Abiana’s plea for gender equality in music promotion reflects her dedication to empowering women in the industry.
Her words serve as a rallying cry for a more inclusive and supportive environment for Ghanaian female musicians.
