“Kyari has met his bail requirements and has been released today,” Duza stated.
Before his legal troubles, Kyari was a high-ranking officer in the Nigerian police force.
He was suspended from duty amid an internal investigation into his alleged connection with Ramon Abbas, also known as “Hushpuppi,” a notorious fraudster. Kyari was also a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).
Kyari’s career included serving at the Lagos State Police Command as a unit commander before being promoted and transferred to lead the now-disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
