The Malayalam film industry mourns the loss of a true luminary as renowned film producer and whole-time director of Mathrubhumi, P. V. Gangadharan, passed away at the age of 80.

P. V. Gangadharan passed away on October 13, 2023, in Kozhikode, while he was undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

Gangadharan was not only a visionary filmmaker but also the founder of Grihalakshmi Productions, a production house responsible for bringing some of the most iconic Malayalam movies to the silver screen.

His legacy is intertwined with films that have left an indelible mark on the hearts of cinema enthusiasts, including classics like “Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha,” “Angaadi,” “Ekalavyan,” “Achuvinte Amma,” and “Kanaakkinavu.”
