Tom O’Lincoln was an American Marxist historian, author, and one of the founders of the International Socialist Tendency in Australia. He lived from August 27, 1947, to October 12, 2023. He joined the International Socialists, who had taken part in the Free Speech Movement two years earlier, while he was a student at UC Berkeley in 1966.

He has published first-hand descriptions of the 1974-5 revolution in Portugal, the Sandinistas in Nicaragua, the Philippines after the demise of Ferdinand Marcos, the USSR under Mikhail Gorbachev, and the uprisings against Suharto in Indonesia.

He was a member of the Trotskyist movement Socialist Alternative, as well as its electoral coalition party Victorian Socialists, and an editor of the online journal Marxist Interventions. On October 12, 2023, O’Lincoln passed away at the age of 76.
