Burr’s journey in the realm of horror began with his work on “Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III” in 1990. Although he wasn’t the initial choice for the film, Burr’s direction added a distinct flavor to the franchise.

Despite facing stiff competition, the R-rated film managed to gross an impressive $5.8 million, all on a modest $2 million budget. This success solidified his position as a talented director within the horror genre.

Following his breakthrough with “Texas Chainsaw Massacre III,” Burr went on to helm several other memorable projects.
Notably, he directed “Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings” in 1993 and took the reins of the “Puppet Master” series with “Puppet Master 4” (1993), “Puppet Master 5” (1994), and the more recent “Puppet Master: Blitzkrieg Massacre” in 2018.
Burr’s creative talents extended beyond horror, as exemplified by his work on “Eddie Presley” in 1992. This film featured Quentin Tarantino and Bruce Campbell in roles as asylum attendants.
