After hanging up his quarterback cleats, Shannon Kelley embarked on a new journey – coaching. He pursued his dream job as a college football coach, driven by a deep passion for the game. His coaching career commenced in 2009 when he took on the role of quarterbacks coach at Division II Fairmont State University in his wife’s hometown of Fairmont, West Virginia.

Over the years, Kelley continued to evolve in the coaching realm. He became the running backs coach at Division II California University of Pennsylvania for the 2011 season. In 2012, he made the leap to Division I FCS Houston Baptist University, where he primarily worked with running backs, contributing to the Huskies’ inaugural season of collegiate football.
