Award-winning comedian Cal Wilson died on October 11, 2023, at age 53.

Since her passing, tributes have poured in from other comedians and media personalities from across the globe.
Actor Rebel Wilson wrote on social media:
“This is so tragic and my heart goes out to Cal’s family….I was very very lucky to work with Cal on multiple projects especially over the last few years where she wrote brilliant material for me. She was amazingly talented and amazingly kind.”
“How unbelievably sad. The most tender, kind, generous and talented performer I’ve ever had the pleasure to work alongside. This is devastating”, TV presenter Grant Denyer also wrote.
Wilson leaves behind her husband and a son.

Beyond stand-up, Wilson graced Australian screens with her presence, featuring in shows like SkitHOUSE, Rove Live, and Thank God You’re Here.
In 2022, she ventured into the wild on the Australian version of “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” and hosted “The Great Australian Bake Off” in 2022 alongside Natalie Tran.
Wilson’s versatility extended beyond comedy. She authored two children’s books in 2019 and, during the 2020 Covid lockdowns, unveiled her talent for crafting extravagant headdresses.
