Dhananjaya de Silva, a professional cricketer from Sri Lanka, was born on September 6, 1991. He represents his country in all forms of the game, plays for the Tamil Union in local play, and is the national team’s vice-captain in ODI and Test matches. At Sri Lanka Cricket’s annual awards ceremony in November 2017, he was recognized as the best Test batsman of the previous year (2016–17).

De Silva was chosen in March 2018 to serve as the Colombo team’s vice-captain for the 2017–18 Super Four Provincial Tournament. The Colombo team for the 2018 Super Provincial One Day Tournament included him the next month as well. De Silva was chosen for the Twenty20 International (T20I) team of Sri Lanka in July 2015 for their series against Pakistan.
