Anthony Hickox was an English film director, producer, actor, and screenwriter who lived from 30 January 1959 until 9 October 2023.
Hickox is best known for his work in the horror genre, which includes such movies as Warlock: The Armageddon, Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat, Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth, and Waxwork and its sequel, Waxwork II: Lost in Time. The long-running Prince Valiant comic strip was adapted into a movie by him in 1997, starring Stephen Moyer as the title character.

His use of a dual-focus approach, in which one person’s face occupies the majority of the screen in profile while another is shown on the other half of the screen in the background, is a common feature of his visual style. Hickox had a reputation as a rebellious director who frequently clashed with his producers.
