Chuck Feeney’s fortune was built upon his co-founding of Duty Free Shoppers Group, a Hong Kong-based chain of duty-free airport stores specializing in luxury goods.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Chuck Feeney’s philanthropic journey was his discretion. For many years, he gave away his fortune in secret, remaining anonymous in his generosity.

Over the course of his lifetime, Chuck Feeney gave away more than $8 billion to various charitable causes, leaving an indelible mark on the world.

His foundation, The Atlantic Philanthropies, became one of the largest private charitable foundations globally, dedicated to making a positive difference in society.

He is survived by his wife, Helga, his five children, and 16 grandchildren, who carry forward his spirit of generosity and compassion.
