His rendition of “If the World Was Ending” during the blind auditions captivated all four coaches, including music luminaries like Keith Urban, Jess Mauboy, Rita Ora, and Guy Sebastian. Ultimately, he chose to join Team Rita, led by the acclaimed singer Rita Ora, leading to his well-deserved triumph on 29 May 2022.
This win came with a $100,000 cash prize and a coveted record label deal with Universal Music Australia.
But Gill’s musical ambitions extend far beyond his Voice victory. On 11 November 2022, he unveiled “Sad Summer,” a song inspired by his personal experiences.
The track showcased his versatility, seamlessly transitioning from soulful, melancholic melodies to infectious, upbeat rhythms. Fans can hardly wait for his debut EP, “Write It Out,” slated for release on 17 November 2023.
Remarkably, amidst his budding music career, Gill remains true to his roots as a physical education teacher and a former Australian Football League (AFL) player.
