Abraham Kiptum, a long-distance runner from Kenya who once held the half marathon world record, was born on September 5, 1989. In Valencia, Spain, on October 28, 2018, Kiptum completed the half-marathon in 58:18, breaking the previous mark of 58:23. However, in 2019, a doping violation judgement led to the annulment of this world record.

On September 15, 2019, Geoffrey Kipsang Kamworor clocked a time of 58:01 to break the previous half marathon world record.

At the Rabat Marathon in 2015, Kiptum made his marathon debut and finished third with a time of 2:11:36. He came in second place, 2 minutes and 16 seconds after Marius Kipserem, at the inaugural Abu Dhabi Marathon on December 7, 2018.
Is Abraham Kiptum related to Kelvin Kiptum?
Although Abraham Kiptum and Kelvin Kiptum are both long-distance Kenyan runners, they are unrelated.
On the other side, Kelvin Kiptum is a Kenyan long-distance runner who holds the Marathon World Record (2:00:35) and is the only person in history to complete a marathon in under two hours in a race that qualified for the record. Three of the top six fastest marathon times are held by Kiptum.
