However, McClain’s path was soon marred by off-field issues that cast a shadow over his career. Multiple arrests and legal troubles during his time with the Raiders led to suspensions and disciplinary actions by the NFL.

These setbacks derailed what could have been a stellar career.
In 2013, McClain’s career took an unexpected turn when he was traded to the Baltimore Ravens.
Surprisingly, he retired from football before even playing a regular-season game with the Ravens. This abrupt retirement was attributed, in part, to his persistent off-field problems.
Despite the challenges, McClain made comeback attempts with the Dallas Cowboys in the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Although he demonstrated flashes of talent, his off-field issues continued to haunt him.
Ultimately, his NFL journey took a definitive turn in 2016 when he was suspended indefinitely for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
The suspension effectively marked the end of his NFL career, leaving many to ponder what could have been.
