Former professional football player William “Refrigerator” Perry spent the most of his 10 NFL seasons with the Chicago Bears. He aided the group in capturing its lone Super Bowl championship in 1985, during his rookie season. Perry, known as “Refrigerator” because of his girth, is the biggest player to ever score a touchdown in a Super Bowl.

Perry was given a full scholarship to Clemson University because of his athletic ability, and he played for the Tigers football team there from 1981 to 1984 under the direction of coach Danny Ford.

Clemson won the ACC and the national championships in Perry’s rookie year, went undefeated, won the Orange Bowl to cap the campaign, and finished first nationally. Due to his large size, Perry acquired the moniker “Refrigerator” in that season.
