YWAM offers various ministries that aim to further the Great Commission, such as discipleship training schools, Bible training programs, leadership mentoring programs, internships, mission trips, and more. YWAM’s mission is to “know God and make Him known”.

There is no age limit for people interested in joining YWAM. The organization believes that God can use anyone He wants to reach out to the world’s youth.

Youth With A Mission, commonly known as YWAM, is an interdenominational Christian training organization with a rich history dating back to its founding in 1960. Founded by American missionary Loren Cunningham and his wife Darlene Cunningham, YWAM has evolved over the years to become a global movement dedicated to “knowing God and making Him known.”

The story of YWAM began with a vision that Loren Cunningham received in 1956 while he was a 20-year-old student in an Assemblies of God College. This vision propelled him to imagine a movement that would send young people from various Christian denominations to nations worldwide to share the message of Jesus.

Today, YWAM operates with a diverse and global staff of over 11,000 individuals from over 130 countries, with a strong emphasis on training and equipping Christians to have a positive influence in various societal “spheres of influence.”

YWAM has even made its mark in the film industry. YWAM Missionary Lee Isaac Chung’s film “Munyurangabo” earned recognition at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.

YWAM is not an isolated organization; it actively collaborates with various missions, churches, and independent missionaries globally. It has formed partnerships with organizations such as Christian Aid, Campus Crusade for Christ, Trans World Radio, Wycliffe Bible Translators, World Vision, and others to advance its mission and participate in various outreach initiatives.

YWAM is a member of several organizations, including the International Orality Network, Call2All, OneStory Project, and the United Bible Societies, demonstrating its commitment to working together with like-minded entities to fulfill the Great Commission.
