Sexyy Red is an American rapper and singer. Thw names of her parents and what they do as of this writing, is not known.

She grew up in St. Louis County, Missouri. Sexxy Red began rapping after her partner cheated on her and she decided to make a diss song about it.

She chose the stage name “Sexyy Red” because she considers herself sexy and her favorite color is red.

Sexyy Red rose to prominence after reworking Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” on her tune “Ah Thousand Jugs” in 2018.

In January 2023, she soared to notoriety with her breakthrough hit “Pound Town” which produced a remix featuring Nicki Minaj named “Pound Town 2” and became her first entry on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Following that, she dropped her second mixtape, Hood Hottest Princess (2023), which includes her highest-charting single, “SkeeYee.”

She was named “one of the biggest breakout artists of summer 2023” by Billboard. She was nominated for “Best Breakthrough Hip-hop Artist” at the BET Hip Hop Awards in 2023.
