He is the son of Joe Keegan and Doris Keegan. His father Joe and uncle Frank were Newcastle United supporters.

His father never saw Keegan play for Newcastle Kevin Keegan enjoyed a highly successful playing career.

Keven Keegan’s playing career spanned from the late 1960s to the early 1980s, during which he represented several clubs, including Scunthorpe United, Liverpool, Hamburger SV, Southampton, and Newcastle United.

However, his most significant achievements came during his time at Liverpool, where he helped the club win numerous domestic and European titles.

Keegan’s impressive individual accolades include winning the Ballon d’Or twice, in 1978 and 1979, a testament to his incredible skill and impact on the pitch.

Additionally, Keegan managed the England national team on two occasions, with his first tenure in the 1990s, where he came close to leading England to victory in the 1996 UEFA European Championship.
