Arthur Burns (historian) cause of death: What happened to Arthur Burns? – Arthur Burns, a British historian, died on October 3, 2023, at the age of 87. However, the cause of death has yet to be revealed.

Burns was a professor of modern British history, and from 2014 to 2017, he was Vice-Dean (Education) in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at King’s College London.

He received his undergraduate degree and doctorate from Balliol College, Oxford.

He was a fellow of the Royal Historical Society, and from 2012 to 2016 was its Vice President (Education), overseeing policy on the teaching of History in both schools and universities.

Since the middle of the eighteenth century, Burns has focused on the history of English religion, in especially the history of the Church of England.

Studies in Modern British Religious History, a monograph series published by Boydell and Brewer, was co-founded and co-edited by him.

He received an honorary fellowship from the Historical Association in 2015 and was named president of the Church of England Record Society in 2016.

He was named the academic director of King’s University’s Georgian Papers Program in 2017.
