Raphael Saadiq is a Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer who has spent a lot of his life in the music industry. The now 51-year-old began touring with the late, great Prince in his late teens, formed the hit-making trio Toni, Tony, Tone’ when he was 21 years old, and has written and produced hits for a variety of artists, including TLC, Mary J. Blige, D’Angelo, and John Legend.

Not to mention that he produced the music for the highly regarded Netflix series Luke Cage. Also, who can forget Solange Knowles’ “Cranes In The Sky”? It recently took home the Best R&B Performance Grammy. Saadiq produced it as well. However, based on his upbringing, one would have thought Raphael would have chosen a different route.
What happened to Raphael Saadiq?
One of his brothers overdosed on heroin, and another killed himself after failing to control his heroin addiction. During a police chase in a residential area, his sister perished in a collision.
