Late ESPN writer Jim Caple is survived by his wife Vicki, whom he was married to until his death.

Vicki had broken the news of her husband’s death to the media a day after he passed on. The couple was happily married but there’s no information regarding Vicki.

Jim Caple was an American columnist who worked as a senior writer for ESPN.com from 2001-2017 covering international sports news, including baseball.

Jim formerly worked with the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and the St. Paul Pioneer Press. He last wrote for The Athletic.

For two decades, Jim covered the World Series and six Olympic Games.

Jim was an alumnus of the University of Washington in Seattle, where he began his journey in journalism, and served as editor of the school newspaper, The Daily.

Jim had also published three books – “The Devil Wears Pinstripes”; “Caple, Jim; Buckley, Steve”; and ‘The Navigator”, all released in 2005, 2006 and 2019 respectively.

The book “The Devil Wears Pinstripes” delves into the passionate fans of baseball’s twenty-six-time World Champions while presenting a unique perspective on the New York Yankees, who have experienced defeat in thirteen World Series.

Jim passed away on October 1, 2023, after a long battle with ALS and dementia. He was aged 61.
