On July 14, 1970, Karen Hardy, a well-known dancer, was born in England. In 1998, Karen and Bryan Watson won the professional International Latin American Dance Championship. Karen is also well recognized as an English professional ballroom dancer and coach.

She began dancing at the age of five in her native Bournemouth, and from the age of 18 onward, she danced in the United States for two years, winning both the East and West Coast amateur championship titles.

After spending two years in America, where she linked up with a new partner named Mark Lunn, she returned to the UK in 1990. It only took them six months to represent England in the international finals. She made an appearance on the BBC Red Button program in 2011 and continues in that role in 2012.

In the 2005 Christmas special with former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, Karen Hardy made an appearance alongside writer and host Bill Turnbull. She also won the 2006 series with cricketer Mark Ramprakash.
