Deadmau5 is not a trap, but rather a Canadian electronic music producer and DJ who mainly produces progressive house and electro-house music.

Deadmau5 and Tommy Lee are friends. Deadmau5 met Tommy Lee of Motley Crue for the first time in 2011. The two have been seen together on several occasions, including at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami in 2010.

Deadmau5 founded his own record label, Mau5trap, in 2007. Mau5trap has been the home to some of the biggest electronic music since its inception.

Deadmau5 has received six Grammy Award nominations for his work. Deadmau5 has collaborated with Steve Duda under the group name BSOD (Better Sounding On Drugs), and was part of the group named WTF? with Duda, Tommy Lee, and DJ Aero.

Deadmau5’s breakthrough, Random Album Title, was released in 2008 and was certified gold in Canada, and silver in the United Kingdom.

Deadmau5 became the only Canadian to have three number-one tracks on Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart. He is also the sixth Canadian to top that chart.

Deadmau5 was part of the lineup for the 22nd Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2023. Deadmau5’s instrumental version of “Sofi Needs a Ladder” was featured in the film The Hangover Part II.
