Alyssa Thomas, an American forward who plays for the Connecticut Sun in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), was born on April 12, 1992. She represented the Maryland Terrapins in college basketball.

In the 2014 WNBA Draft, the New York Liberty selected Thomas fourth overall. They then traded her to the Phoenix Sun along with Kelsey Bone and a first-round draft pick in 2015 for Tina Charles.
Thomas is one of only three athletes in NCAAW history to have six career triple-doubles. She is also the all-time leader for scoring, rebounding, and double-doubles for both the men’s and women’s programs at the University of Maryland. Only Thomas has nine triple-doubles in the WNBA, more than any other player. Thomas was chosen for the All-ACC Second Team during her freshman year and was voted the 2011 ACC Rookie of the Year.

Tina and Bob Thomas, the parents of Alyssa Thomas, are former basketball players.
The pair coached her kid during her formative years while they were basketball players at Millersville University. Tina encouraged her daughter to play basketball.
Alyssa, one of the successful WNBA players, wasn’t very interested in basketball when she was little. The oldest of Tina and Bob’s three children had her sights set on a career as a soccer player.
The Milton Hershey Women’s Team’s basketball team is presently coached by her mother Tina.
