American writer and actor Ryan Ridley was born on May 12, 1976 in Detroit, Michigan. The Wastelander (2005), Our Footloose Remark (2011), and Rick and Morty (2013) are among of his better known works.

Together with Mike Markoff, Ryan attended a yeshiva in Jerusalem to study. He spent four years making short films and performing stand-up comedy after moving to Chicago.

He also participated in Dan Hamon’s monthly non-profit short film festival, Channel 101, which also has a sister festival in New York City, Channel 101 NY.
