Rosted was born on 22 July 1994 in Oslo, and played youth football at Hasle-Løren and Kjelsås, before joining Sarpsborg 08 ahead of the 2015 season.

He had Bekhterev’s illness, a form of arthritis that primarily affected his back when he signed, but medicine allowed him to play professionally. Against Odds BK, Rosted made his professional debut in September 2015.

Rosted signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Gent on January 7, 2018, and on January 24, he made his First Division A debut for Gent against Royal Antwerp as a substitute in a 1-1 draw away, taking Nana Asare’s place for the final 45 minutes. He made 8 appearances for the team during the 2017–18 campaign.

On August 27, 2019, Rosted signed a four-year contract with Superliga team Brondby in Denmark for an undisclosed sum, which was reportedly approximately $300,000.

On September 1, he participated in his first 90 minutes of competitive action for the team as Brondby fell 1-0 away to FC Midtjylland in the Superliga.

Brondby IF made the announcement that Rosted had left the team and joined Toronto FC of Major League Soccer on January 31, 2023. On February 7, Toronto FC announced the signing of Rosted to a three-year contract with a 2026 option, using Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) for the transfer.

On February 26, 2023, he started his first game with the Reds in a 3-2 loss to D.C. United away at Audi Field.
