Pavel “Pasha” Kovalev is a professional Russian Latin and ballroom dancer. Kovalev began dancing at the age of eight and came to the United States with his professional dance partner Anya Garnis in 2001.

He started dancing at the age of eight and participated in Russia’s Amateur Latin category with his partner Anya Garnis until 2000.
Kovalev and Garnis turned professional after migrating to the United States and began competing in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada in 2002.
In September 2011, Kovalev joined BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing as the new professional dancer for the ninth series, replacing Jared Murillo, who had departed the show after only one series.

Pasha Kovalev Wife: Who is Rachel Riley?
Kovalev began dating his former Strictly Come Dancing partner Rachel Riley in 2013, and the two currently live in London.
Riley and Kovalev announced on social media in May 2019 that they were expecting their first child in December. On June 28, 2019, the pair married in Las Vegas.
On December 15, 2019, their daughter was born. On November 5, 2021, they had their second daughter.
