Alan Williams is a former American football coach and former player.

He and his wife have three children Christian, Solomon and Nathan Williams. There is not much information about his children due to how private they are.
Alan Williams played football in college. He started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Norview High School in 1992-95, where he also coached track and field.
He returned to William & Mary in 1996 as a coach, instructing running backs from 1996 to 1997 and defensive backs from 1998 to 2000.

Williams gained his first NFL coaching experience in 2001 while working for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers under Tony Dungy.
The following year, Williams followed Tony Dungy to the Indianapolis Colts, where he was the defensive backs coach from 2002 to 2011. Williams won Super Bowl XLII with the Indianapolis Colts against the Chicago Bears.
Williams was hired as the Chicago Bears’ defensive coordinator on February 2, 2022, replacing newly-appointed Indianapolis Colts head coach Matt Eberflus. Williams resigned on September 20, 2023, citing health and family considerations.
