Glynn Turman Jr. cause of death: What happened to Glynn Turman’s son? – Glynn Turman Jr., the son of actor Glynn Turman and stepson of Aretha Franklin, was tragically murdered in 1986.

Turman Jr.’s tragic death occurred during a fight in the parking lot of a beachside restaurant. He was pronounced dead at Santa Monica Hospital. The perpetrator of the heinous crime, Henry Eugene Montgomery, was arrested and held for investigation of murder and attempted murder.

According to upi.com, witnesses told investigators that the fight erupted after Turman apparently made slurs to a girl walking with Montgomery and a group of juveniles, Cooper said.

‘He apparently had made a pass and the pass was shunned,’ Cooper said.

When Montgomery began to argue with Turman, he was met with a challenge to a fistfight. During the fracas, Turman was stabbed.

‘The suspect did not use fists; he used a knife and stabbed him many times,’ Cooper said.

Turman Jr was taken to Santa Monica Hospital where he died at 8:15 p.m. His companion, Todd Daniels, in his 20s, of New York, was treated for superficial stab wounds and released.

Turman’s killer was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 18 years in prison. He was released on parole in 2003 and died in 2016.
