Nikol Pashinyan is an Armenian politician serving as the prime minister of Armenia since 8 May 2018.

He and his wife Anna Hakobyan have three children Ashot Pashinyan, Mariam Pashinyan, Arpi Pashinyan and Shushan Pashinyan
Ashot, their son, volunteered to serve in Artsakh in 2018 and again in October 2020 during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
There was an attempted kidnapping on his son Ashot Pashinyan in May 2023.
The Investigative Committee stated in a statement that one unnamed lady had been detained in connection with the suspected kidnapping attempt, and that investigators were “taking urgent actions” to determine what transpired.

The Armenian Times, a newspaper managed by his mother, Anna Hakobyan, said that Ashot Pashinyan suffered leg injuries in the event but did not describe the severity.
Pashinyan and his family are members of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Pashinyan issued an offer to exchange his son Ashot for all Armenian POWs incarcerated in Azerbaijan while campaigning for the 2021 Armenian parliamentary election.
