In 1998, she joined 702, along with Kameelah Williams and LeMisha Grinstead. The group released their debut album, No Doubt, the following year. The album was a commercial success, spawning the hit singles “Stepmom” and “Get It Together.”

702 went on to release five more albums, including the Grammy-nominated album Star (2002). The group also had several other hit singles, including “Where My Girls At,” “Star,” and “I Still Love You.”

Grinstead left 702 in 2003 to pursue a solo career. She released her debut solo album, The Life, in 2003. The album was not as commercially successful as 702’s albums, but it received positive reviews from critics.
