In the National Football League, Sua Opeta plays guard for the Philadelphia Eagles. Prior to the Eagles signing him as an undrafted free agent in 2019, he played collegiate football for Weber State. He played both offense and defense for the team at Stansbury Park High School.

Opeta redshirted as a true freshman but played for the Weber State Wildcats for five seasons. He was a redshirt freshman defensive tackle who later switched to the offensive line after receiving a guarantee of a starting position during the offseason. Opeta was an honorable mention All-Conference performer in his debut season on the offensive line. Two times, Opeta was recognized as an FCS All-American. The NFLPA Collegiate Bowl named him to its roster.
