Ireland’s national rugby union side and United Rugby Championship club Munster both use scrum-half Craig Casey (born 19 April 1999) as their primary scrum-half.

Prior to the start of the 2017–18 season, Casey joined the Munster academy. In April 2019, he was named the John McCarthy Award for Academy Player of the Year. On April 27, 2019, in round 21 of the 2018–19 Pro14, Munster defeated Connacht 27–14, and Casey made his senior competitive debut for the team.

As a result of Conor Murray’s withdrawal from the starting lineup during the warm-up, Neil Cronin was elevated to the starting lineup, and Casey was a last-minute addition to the Munster bench. Due to a string of ailments, Casey was unable to be selected for the Ireland under-20s in 2018.
