Testaverde met Laura Ann Gambucci at Tempe, Ariz., in December 1986 just before the University of Miami faced Penn State in the Fiesta Bowl. The couple got married in 1988.
Vinny Testaverde filed for divorce after eight months of marriage.
According to court documents, Testaverde stated that he and his wife have been estranged since January 26, when their marriage became ‘irretrievably destroyed.’ Testaverde was the divorce petitioner, and he requested a lump-sum alimony payment be a condition of the settlement.
Laura Gambucci has maintained a relatively private life outside of the public eye, and there is limited public information available about her beyond her association with Vinny Testaverde.

Vinny Testaverde spent 21 seasons as a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). He was a unanimous All-American for the Miami Hurricanes in college and earned the Heisman Trophy in 1986.
Despite being passed over for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Testaverde retired with more career passing yards and touchdowns than Joe Namath, Roger Staubach, Dan Fouts, Joe Montana, Steve Young, Jim Kelly, Troy Aikman, Terry Bradshaw, and Kurt Warner.
