Vinny Testaverde was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) for 21 years. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers chose him in 1987 and signed him to a six-year, $8 million contract, but his first year with the organisation was disastrous.

Even when his game improved considerably, he became the target of public ridicule. He left Tampa Bay in 1992, signing with the Cleveland Browns and subsequently the Baltimore Ravens.

During his 21-year professional career, he set numerous records and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2013. He was also unanimous All-American for the Miami Hurricanes in college and earned the Heisman Trophy in 1986.
