Chief Akintola Williams’ journey began in the early 1930s when he commenced his education at Olowogbowo Methodist Primary School on Bankole Street, Apongbon, Lagos Island, Lagos. His association with this institution held deep familial significance as both his late junior brother, Chief Rotimi Williams, and his youngest brother, Rev James Kehinde Williams, had connections to Olowogbowo Methodist Church.

In 1952, Chief Williams embarked on a path that would lead to the founding of his own firm. Over the years, this firm would evolve organically and through mergers to become the largest professional services firm in Nigeria by 2004. Chief Akintola Williams’ accomplishments extended far beyond his firm as he played an instrumental role in the establishment of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
